Wardrobe Essentials: The Best WHITE T-SHIRTS

Welcome to episode 2 of my Wardrobe Essential series. Last time, we discussed the importance of a striped button down. And as I stood in front of my closet pondering what item of clothing I should cover next, I realized I was looking in the wrong direction completely. Down, was where I should look. Right at the shirt I was wearing: a white T-shirt.
Fact: the best white T-shirts are much harder to find than you would think. Despite being such a common and vital piece of clothing, it took me ages to find the one I was wearing at the moment. My white T-shirt criteria were simple: it had to be crisp white, irresistibly soft, and hug my body like a clingy baby koala. I wanted it to be so perfect that when I wore it with my sweatpants, I would still look chic. A basic white T serves more than just loungewear, though. It’s the ideal layering piece under crewneck sweaters and cardigans. It’s the shirt to wear when you have “nothing to wear,” and it still manages to make you look put together. I’ve worn mine over skirts, boxer shorts, leather pants, leggings, and of course, jeans. Its precisely this versatility that makes it a wardrobe essential.
I was lucky: I found my perfect white T at an H&M store in a half-abandoned shopping mall. Unfortunately, I don’t see that exact same option available on H&M’s website anymore. However, I’ve found plenty of spectacular white T-shirts on the internet and gathered them here, for you.
