Calvin Klein Makes a Comeback For FALL 2025

Big news, y’all, Calvin Klein has returned to the New York Fashion Week lineup after a near-seven year hiatus. The label has introduced not only a fresh collection, but its first ever female creative director, Veronica Leoni, who succeeded Raf Simons back in 2018. And while seven years is quite long to disappear from runway, this season proved the wait was well worth it. A collection consisting of well tailored suits (a big trend for 2025), drapey dresses, and sculptural masterpieces proved that Leoni has been observing and taking notes over the past few years.

While I can’t say there was anything new on the catwalk (you can pinpoint where the inspiration was drawn from for each item of clothing), I will say that each piece was beautifully mastered and made to easily integrate into the working woman’s wardrobe. Leoni drew inspiration from ‘90s corporate New York City culture, which has been a theme throughout the season. Kendall Jenner, a longtime brand ambassador of Calvin Klein, graced the runway in a floor-length blazer-coat and a pair of office siren glasses. More sleek, minimalist and monochromatic ensembles made their way passed a star-studded front row. Leoni is no stranger to minimalism after all, having previously worked with brands like Celine, The Row, and Jil Sander.

In my opinion, she deserves praise for remaining true to the label’s DNA while integrating her Italian touch and craftsmanship. It can be tricky to bring life back into a brand that (some say) has lost its way, maybe a little stuck in its old boots. But today’s show proved that sleek designs and a carefully placed lapel or button can work wonders for an OG brand.

And before I close out of this article, I do want to point out an emerging bag trend I see that Calvin Klein brought onto the show: the return of the vintage clasp purse… more to come in the next story ;)
